Some processes seem so esoteric in nature that we can become paralyzed when we are forced to deal with them. It's important to fight through the obscurity and get an answer. I guess that's the point of educating yourself on anything, right? You attempt to gain knowledge so a situation becomes easier or safer. For instance, I find the process of paying a lawyer to be very confusing.

A lawyer can earn a fixed fee, a monthly retainer, a deposited retainer, and/or a contingency fee. The differences between these forms of compensation are vast.
